I am hoping to get a simplified explanation of my CT scan report.
Small to moderate sized central disc protrusions at l4-l5 and l5-s1 At l4-l5 it indents the anterior aspect of the cal sac L5-s1 the disc protrusion extends to the left and comes in contact with the traversing left S1 nerve root deviating it posteriorly
1.There is a disc between the vertebral bodies helps as a shock absorber effect, the disc contains maximum percentage of water, due to degenerative changes when the water content / hydration is lost the disc slips / bulges. 2.There is bulge L4-5,L5-S1 level causing pressure effect on t ethical sac. 3.At L5-S1 there is indentation or mass effect on the nerve root pushing posteriorly. 4.Treatment in this include exercise followed by physiotherapy that will help. 5.Finally if nothing of this works operative / interventional treatment is treatment of choice. Good luck.
Hope i have answered your query. Any thing to ask do not hesitate. Thank you.
